SOUTH KORTRIGHT DAIRY BOYS

The South Kortright Dairy Boys started the year by having a summer meeting to which they invited their dads. Members were very active at the County Fair where they received over one hundred dollars in premiums. Raymond Doig and Wilhelm Sander spent a week at the state FFA camp.

Ambrose DeMoise, the high boy in our local activity contest, represented the chapter at the national FFA Convention at Kansas City. At the convention our chapter received a certificate of honorable mention in the National Chapter Contest. this is the third consecutive year that South Kortright has been one of the two chapters to represent New York State in the above contest.

The club sponsored a dance and sold Christmas cards to raise money. As a result we were able to send one hundred dollars to the state camp fund to be used to retire the mortgage.

During the fall we submitted entries in the state Dairy Herd Management and Poultry Management contests. We have sent in applications for both of these contests again this year. At present we are planning to enter the county judging contest, put on an assembly program, and have our annual Father and Son Banquet. Two members are making out applications for the Empire Farmer degree.

Officers for the present school year are as follows:

Wilhelm Sander ~ President
Howard Nichols ~ Vice-president
Jesse Wheeler ~ Secretary
Raymond Doig ~ Reporter
Ambrose DeMoise ~ Treasurer
Glen Kaufman ~ Sentinel
Albert Palm ~ Advisor
