ANNOUNCEMENT

A WORD TO PUPILS IN DISTRICT SCHOOLS

The earning of a Preliminary Certificate is the first step toward a High School education. Often this is the hardest step. Students in the district schools are handicapped in many ways, among which are the lack of time for proper recitation periods and teachers inexperienced in Regent's work. When students have completed the seventh grade, much time can be saved and better results obtained by their spending a year in our Pre-Academic Department where the teacher has time to devote to Regents work. This department is in charge of a teacher with several years' experience in this particular work. They will then enter the High School with a proper groundwork and more confidence. We urge parents to investigate the matter, for we feel that the few dollars spent will bring greater returns than at any other time in the school life of the pupil.
